# PrayersPlus vs Star Pupil

The clearest difference is price: Star Pupil at Free against PrayersPlus's $2.99. Star Pupil also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). PrayersPlus's advantage is review sentiment (71% vs 50%) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Star Pupil is free to download; PrayersPlus costs $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Star Pupil holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PrayersPlus has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of PrayersPlus's written reviews are positive against 50% of Star Pupil's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PrayersPlus ships an update every 3 months, Star Pupil every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
