# Visional vs MissionScanner

The clearest difference is rating: Visional at 5.0 against MissionScanner's 4.5. Visional also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). MissionScanner's advantage is ratings volume (154 vs 6) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Visional holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MissionScanner has 154 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Visional's written reviews are positive against 63% of MissionScanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Visional ships an update fortnightly, MissionScanner every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
