# PhotoStudy vs COE Works

The clearest difference is rating: COE Works at 5.0 against PhotoStudy's 4.2. COE Works also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). PhotoStudy's advantage is ratings volume (2.1K vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 3 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PhotoStudy sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. COE Works asks for nothing beyond the download.

COE Works holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PhotoStudy has 2.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PhotoStudy ships an update every 2 months, COE Works every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
