# MIDI Score vs Composer Pro

The clearest difference is monetization model: MIDI Score at free with in-app purchases against Composer Pro's subscription. MIDI Score also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Composer Pro's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MIDI Score sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Composer Pro sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Composer Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 151 and 685 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 43% of MIDI Score's written reviews are positive against 72% of Composer Pro's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 18, 2026.
