# R vs lbtelematics

The clearest difference is review sentiment: R at 50% against lbtelematics's 0%. R also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). lbtelematics's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 9 months) and rating (3.3 vs 3.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

lbtelematics holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: lbtelematics has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of R's written reviews are positive against 0% of lbtelematics's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

R ships an update every 9 months, lbtelematics monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
