# WebMO Molecule Editor vs Mirage

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mirage at none against WebMO Molecule Editor's 2. Mirage also leads on review sentiment (92% vs 60%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 3 months). WebMO Molecule Editor's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (40 vs 3). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WebMO Molecule Editor sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Mirage asks for nothing beyond the download.

WebMO Molecule Editor holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WebMO Molecule Editor has 40 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of WebMO Molecule Editor's written reviews are positive against 92% of Mirage's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WebMO Molecule Editor ships an update every 3 months, Mirage every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
