# vChannel vs RSS Video Player

The clearest difference is rating: RSS Video Player at 3.8 against vChannel's 3.2. RSS Video Player also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months). vChannel's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (226 vs 6). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RSS Video Player sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. vChannel asks for nothing beyond the download.

RSS Video Player holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: vChannel has 226 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of vChannel's written reviews are positive against 21% of RSS Video Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

vChannel ships an update every 5 months, RSS Video Player every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
