# VegDr vs Picture Insect

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: VegDr at none against Picture Insect's 15. VegDr also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). Picture Insect's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 22 months) and ratings volume (45K vs 2). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Picture Insect sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. VegDr asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for VegDr against 4.6 for Picture Insect. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Picture Insect has 45K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

VegDr ships an update every 22 months, Picture Insect every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
