# Torch Timer vs FlashLight

The clearest difference is ads: Torch Timer at none against FlashLight's shown. Torch Timer also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). FlashLight's advantage is review sentiment (82% vs 63%) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Torch Timer sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and FlashLight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Torch Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 191 and 358 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Torch Timer's written reviews are positive against 82% of FlashLight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Torch Timer ships an update every 4 days, FlashLight monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
