# Torch Timer vs Flashlight

The clearest difference is ads: Torch Timer at none against Flashlight's shown. Torch Timer also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (191 vs 19). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Torch Timer sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Flashlight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Torch Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Torch Timer has 191 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Torch Timer ships an update every 4 days, Flashlight every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
