# Speak & Translate vs Language Translator Camera OCR

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Language Translator Camera OCR at 100% against Speak & Translate's 48%. Speak & Translate's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.6) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speak & Translate sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Language Translator Camera OCR sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speak & Translate holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speak & Translate has 259K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Speak & Translate's written reviews are positive against 100% of Language Translator Camera OCR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speak & Translate ships an update every 3 weeks, Language Translator Camera OCR every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
