# CypherText vs Games Filter

The clearest difference is rating: CypherText at 5.0 against Games Filter's 2.1. CypherText also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Games Filter's advantage is ratings volume (20 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CypherText holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Games Filter has 20 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CypherText ships an update monthly, Games Filter every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
