# DigiSlate vs Tentacle Timebar

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Tentacle Timebar at none against DigiSlate's 2. Tentacle Timebar also leads on rating (4.3 vs 3.9). DigiSlate's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (49 vs 4). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DigiSlate sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Tentacle Timebar asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tentacle Timebar holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DigiSlate has 49 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of DigiSlate's written reviews are positive against 67% of Tentacle Timebar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DigiSlate ships an update monthly, Tentacle Timebar every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
