# InstAddr vs Potatso

InstAddr and Potatso both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 86% of InstAddr's written reviews are positive against 58% of Potatso's. InstAddr also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). Potatso's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly) and ratings volume (6.1K vs 956). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. InstAddr sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Potatso sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for InstAddr against 4.4 for Potatso. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Potatso has 6.1K ratings behind it against 956, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of InstAddr's written reviews are positive against 58% of Potatso's.

InstAddr ships an update monthly, Potatso fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
