# Colorful Note vs Simple Notes.

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Colorful Note at none against Simple Notes.'s 3. Colorful Note also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.1). Simple Notes.'s advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 41 months) and ratings volume (61 vs 2). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Notes. sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Colorful Note asks for nothing beyond the download.

Simple Notes. holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Notes. has 61 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Colorful Note's written reviews are positive against 79% of Simple Notes.'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Colorful Note ships an update every 41 months, Simple Notes. every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
