# Colorful Note vs Notebook

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Colorful Note at none against Notebook's 3. Colorful Note also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.0). Notebook's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 41 months) and ratings volume (122 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notebook sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Colorful Note asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Colorful Note against 4.6 for Notebook. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notebook has 122 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Colorful Note's written reviews are positive against 93% of Notebook's.

Colorful Note ships an update every 41 months, Notebook every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
