# LoungeKey vs Smiles

LoungeKey and Smiles both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 55% of Smiles's written reviews are positive against 22% of LoungeKey's. LoungeKey's advantage is ratings volume (17K vs 387). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for LoungeKey against 4.7 for Smiles. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LoungeKey has 17K ratings behind it against 387, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 22% of LoungeKey's written reviews are positive against 55% of Smiles's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
