# MagicalDraw vs AmberPaint

The clearest difference is rating: AmberPaint at 4.4 against MagicalDraw's 3.5. AmberPaint also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs monthly) and ratings volume (138 vs 19). MagicalDraw's advantage is review sentiment (64% vs 25%) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AmberPaint sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. MagicalDraw asks for nothing beyond the download.

AmberPaint holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AmberPaint has 138 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of MagicalDraw's written reviews are positive against 25% of AmberPaint's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MagicalDraw ships an update monthly, AmberPaint every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
