# Slate vs Final Selection Experience

The clearest difference is update cadence: Final Selection Experience at every 3 weeks against Slate's every 8 months. Final Selection Experience also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Slate ships an update every 8 months, Final Selection Experience every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
