# Background Eraser vs Imaengine

The clearest difference is rating: Background Eraser at 4.5 against Imaengine's 3.1. Background Eraser also leads on ratings volume (134K vs 35) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). Imaengine's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Background Eraser sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per year and Imaengine sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Background Eraser holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Background Eraser has 134K ratings behind it against 35, so its average is the more settled of the two.
