# Maru vs CHINCHIRO

Maru and CHINCHIRO both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 72% of CHINCHIRO's written reviews are positive against 14% of Maru's. CHINCHIRO also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). Maru's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (33 vs 5). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Maru sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and CHINCHIRO sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Maru against 4.6 for CHINCHIRO. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Maru has 33 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 14% of Maru's written reviews are positive against 72% of CHINCHIRO's.

Maru ships an update every 2 months, CHINCHIRO weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
