# HonkMobile vs BC Hydro EV

The clearest difference is monetization model: HonkMobile at free against BC Hydro EV's free with in-app purchases. HonkMobile also leads on ratings volume (3.1K vs 33) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HonkMobile holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HonkMobile has 3.1K ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of HonkMobile's written reviews are positive against 29% of BC Hydro EV's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HonkMobile ships an update every 6 weeks, BC Hydro EV every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
