# TestNav vs Jamf School Student

The clearest difference is update cadence: Jamf School Student at every 2 weeks against TestNav's every 8 months. Jamf School Student also leads on device support (3 vs 1). TestNav's advantage is ratings volume (104 vs 5) and review sentiment (24% vs 9%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Jamf School Student holds the better App Store score, 1.8 against 1.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TestNav has 104 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of TestNav's written reviews are positive against 9% of Jamf School Student's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TestNav ships an update every 8 months, Jamf School Student every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
