# MTC vs ESET HOME

The clearest difference is rating: ESET HOME at 4.7 against MTC's 4.0. ESET HOME also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 15 months) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 4). MTC's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ESET HOME holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ESET HOME has 3.3K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of MTC's written reviews are positive against 48% of ESET HOME's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MTC ships an update every 15 months, ESET HOME every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
