# Speech Bubble Maker vs Talkr

The clearest difference is monetization model: Talkr at free with in-app purchases against Speech Bubble Maker's subscription. Talkr also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speech Bubble Maker sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Talkr sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Talkr holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Talkr has 8.8K ratings behind it against 800, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 58% of Speech Bubble Maker's written reviews are positive against 60% of Talkr's.

Speech Bubble Maker ships an update every 4 months, Talkr every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
