# SimplePlanes vs APG

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SimplePlanes at 83% against APG's 0%. SimplePlanes also leads on ratings volume (3K vs 3) and chart position (#70 vs unranked). APG's advantage is price (Free vs $5.99) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

APG is free to download; SimplePlanes costs $5.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

APG holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SimplePlanes has 3K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of SimplePlanes's written reviews are positive against 0% of APG's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SimplePlanes ships an update every 3 months, APG every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
