# Calcularium vs aLock

The clearest difference is ads: aLock at none against Calcularium's shown. aLock also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). Calcularium's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 32). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calcularium sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and aLock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Calcularium against 4.7 for aLock. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calcularium has 2.2K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 67% of Calcularium's written reviews are positive against 75% of aLock's.

Calcularium ships an update fortnightly, aLock every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
