# Minesweeper Fun vs Minesweeper

Minesweeper Fun and Minesweeper both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 95% of Minesweeper Fun's written reviews are positive against 27% of Minesweeper's. Minesweeper Fun also leads on ratings volume (19 vs 1). Minesweeper's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Minesweeper Fun sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Minesweeper asks for nothing beyond the download.

Minesweeper holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Minesweeper Fun has 19 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Minesweeper Fun's written reviews are positive against 27% of Minesweeper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Minesweeper Fun ships an update every 3 months, Minesweeper every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
