# Brushstroke vs NotanIzer

The clearest difference is price: Brushstroke at Free against NotanIzer's $1.99. Brushstroke also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (14K vs 105). NotanIzer's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and chart position (#39 vs unranked). On review sentiment, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Brushstroke is free to download; NotanIzer costs $1.99 up front. Brushstroke sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. NotanIzer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Brushstroke holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brushstroke has 14K ratings behind it against 105, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Brushstroke's written reviews are positive against 82% of NotanIzer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brushstroke ships an update monthly, NotanIzer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
