# Brushstroke vs Overgrid

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Brushstroke at 14K against Overgrid's 11. Brushstroke also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Overgrid's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 80%) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brushstroke sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Overgrid sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Overgrid holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brushstroke has 14K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 80% of Brushstroke's written reviews are positive against 100% of Overgrid's.

Brushstroke ships an update monthly, Overgrid weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
