# type vs Notebook Games

The clearest difference is rating: Notebook Games at 5.0 against type's 1.8. Notebook Games also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). type's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. type sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Notebook Games sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notebook Games holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: type has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

type ships an update every 4 months, Notebook Games fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
