# SpectrumU vs DISH OnePoint

The clearest difference is rating: SpectrumU at 4.4 against DISH OnePoint's 2.0. SpectrumU also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (317 vs 12). DISH OnePoint's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SpectrumU holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SpectrumU has 317 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of SpectrumU's written reviews are positive against 20% of DISH OnePoint's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SpectrumU ships an update every 2 weeks, DISH OnePoint every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
