# DIE ZEIT vs The Postillon

The clearest difference is rating: DIE ZEIT at 4.7 against The Postillon's 2.0. DIE ZEIT also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 13 months) and ratings volume (187 vs 1). The Postillon's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 33) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DIE ZEIT sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. The Postillon asks for nothing beyond the download.

DIE ZEIT holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DIE ZEIT has 187 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of DIE ZEIT's written reviews are positive against 63% of The Postillon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DIE ZEIT ships an update fortnightly, The Postillon every 13 months. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
