# Babbel vs Der Die Das

The clearest difference is ads: Der Die Das at none against Babbel's shown. Der Die Das also leads on review sentiment (60% vs 44%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.0). Babbel's advantage is ratings volume (758K vs 323) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Babbel sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per month and Der Die Das sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Babbel against 4.7 for Der Die Das. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Babbel has 758K ratings behind it against 323, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 44% of Babbel's written reviews are positive against 60% of Der Die Das's.

Babbel ships an update every 5 days, Der Die Das fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
