# Color Notes vs MyBase

The clearest difference is ads: Color Notes at none against MyBase's shown. Color Notes also leads on ratings volume (640 vs 7) and review sentiment (14% vs 0%). MyBase's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.1) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MyBase holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Color Notes has 640 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of Color Notes's written reviews are positive against 0% of MyBase's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Color Notes ships an update every 6 weeks, MyBase monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
