# Color Notes vs Sticky Notes

Color Notes and Sticky Notes both sit at 4.1 stars, but that hides the real split: 67% of Sticky Notes's written reviews are positive against 14% of Color Notes's. Color Notes's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (640 vs 21). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Color Notes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per month and Sticky Notes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.1 for Color Notes against 4.0 for Sticky Notes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Color Notes has 640 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 14% of Color Notes's written reviews are positive against 67% of Sticky Notes's.

Color Notes ships an update every 6 weeks, Sticky Notes every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
