# OpenSprinkler vs GrowFlux

The clearest difference is review sentiment: OpenSprinkler at 65% against GrowFlux's 0%. OpenSprinkler also leads on ratings volume (29 vs 5). GrowFlux's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.9) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GrowFlux holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OpenSprinkler has 29 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of OpenSprinkler's written reviews are positive against 0% of GrowFlux's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OpenSprinkler ships an update every 2 months, GrowFlux every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
