# Magazines Collector vs TotalAV

The clearest difference is rating: TotalAV at 4.6 against Magazines Collector's 3.3. TotalAV also leads on ratings volume (72K vs 4) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months). Magazines Collector's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 24%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Magazines Collector sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and TotalAV sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TotalAV holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TotalAV has 72K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Magazines Collector's written reviews are positive against 24% of TotalAV's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Magazines Collector ships an update every 4 months, TotalAV every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
