# Risk Point Alert vs BAM Weather

The clearest difference is rating: BAM Weather at 4.5 against Risk Point Alert's 3.6. BAM Weather also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (102 vs 7). Risk Point Alert's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 56%) and iOS requirement (9.2 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BAM Weather holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BAM Weather has 102 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Risk Point Alert's written reviews are positive against 56% of BAM Weather's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Risk Point Alert ships an update every 2 months, BAM Weather every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
