# True vs Brocast

The clearest difference is rating: Brocast at 5.0 against True's 4.2. Brocast also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 85%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). True's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Brocast holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: True has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of True's written reviews are positive against 100% of Brocast's.

True ships an update every 3 weeks, Brocast every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
