# VideoPad vs Video Playback App

The clearest difference is update cadence: Video Playback App at every 3 days against VideoPad's every 5 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VideoPad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Video Playback App sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VideoPad ships an update every 5 months, Video Playback App every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
