# VideoPad vs VSDC

VideoPad and VSDC both sit at 3.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 76% of VSDC's written reviews are positive against 39% of VideoPad's. VSDC also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 5 months). VideoPad's advantage is ratings volume (426 vs 16) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VideoPad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and VSDC sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.9 for VideoPad against 3.9 for VSDC. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VideoPad has 426 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 39% of VideoPad's written reviews are positive against 76% of VSDC's.

VideoPad ships an update every 5 months, VSDC every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
