# Ukiyo vs Wallpapers Central

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Ukiyo at 93% against Wallpapers Central's 55%. Ukiyo also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). Wallpapers Central's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (4.6K vs 498). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ukiyo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Wallpapers Central sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 3 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ukiyo holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wallpapers Central has 4.6K ratings behind it against 498, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 93% of Ukiyo's written reviews are positive against 55% of Wallpapers Central's.

Ukiyo ships an update every 8 months, Wallpapers Central every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
