# KMPlayer vs Video Player

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: KMPlayer at none against Video Player's 4. KMPlayer also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). Video Player's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Player sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. KMPlayer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Video Player holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3.3K and 2.4K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of KMPlayer's written reviews are positive against 62% of Video Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

KMPlayer ships an update every 9 days, Video Player every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
