# KMPlayer vs LALA Stories

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: KMPlayer at none against LALA Stories's 3. KMPlayer also leads on ratings volume (3.2K vs 26) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 weeks). LALA Stories's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LALA Stories sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. KMPlayer asks for nothing beyond the download.

LALA Stories holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KMPlayer has 3.2K ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of KMPlayer's written reviews are positive against 60% of LALA Stories's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

KMPlayer ships an update every 9 days, LALA Stories every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
