# TheBrain vs Mind Map with Brainstorm/AI

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Mind Map with Brainstorm/AI at 100% against TheBrain's 44%. TheBrain's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.2) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TheBrain sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per month and Mind Map with Brainstorm/AI sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TheBrain holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TheBrain has 168 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of TheBrain's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mind Map with Brainstorm/AI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TheBrain ships an update every 3 weeks, Mind Map with Brainstorm/AI every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
