# Phont vs My Font

The clearest difference is rating: My Font at 4.2 against Phont's 3.2. My Font also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 6) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 9 months). Phont's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (50% vs 37%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Phont sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and My Font sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

My Font holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Font has 1.2K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Phont's written reviews are positive against 37% of My Font's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Phont ships an update every 9 months, My Font every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
