# Phont vs SuperNotes Note Taking App

The clearest difference is rating: SuperNotes Note Taking App at 4.7 against Phont's 3.2. SuperNotes Note Taking App also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (624 vs 6). Phont's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Phont sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and SuperNotes Note Taking App sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SuperNotes Note Taking App holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SuperNotes Note Taking App has 624 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Phont's written reviews are positive against 41% of SuperNotes Note Taking App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Phont ships an update every 9 months, SuperNotes Note Taking App every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
