# Sam vs Tv Remote

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tv Remote at every 4 days against Sam's every 2 weeks. Tv Remote also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sam sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Tv Remote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sam ships an update every 2 weeks, Tv Remote every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
