# iDhammapada vs Now VPN

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: iDhammapada at none against Now VPN's 11. iDhammapada also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 72%). Now VPN's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 15 months) and ratings volume (69K vs 6). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Now VPN sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. iDhammapada asks for nothing beyond the download.

Now VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Now VPN has 69K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of iDhammapada's written reviews are positive against 72% of Now VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iDhammapada ships an update every 15 months, Now VPN every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
